Switchscene Printing and award-winning surface design specialist, ATADesigns
Switchscene Printing and award-winning surface design specialist, ATADesigns join forces, offering an exciting new range of wall-covering and mural designs for residential care homes. Designing wall-coverings and murals for the care home is an area ATADesigns have a growing interest in and have been exploring for the past two years.
What comes immediately to mind when we mention care homes and it’s interiors? Whilst we acknowledge that there are a variety of nice looking, good quality care homes out there, I immediately tend to think of a grim place, where people can be apprehensive about going to, this is not the case for some care homes.
Having done research on care home interiors, we have taken a step back from our very own signature design style we are renowned for and created carefully considered simple stylish wall-coverings and mural designs specifically for the care home sector. With an ageing population, more and more care homes will be utilised in future.
There are many important aspects to consider when designing wall-coverings and murals for a care homes including colours and shapes that are aesthetic and tranquil. Creating a safe and caring environment in the care home is important, and this includes the design of the interior. We are certain that our new wall-coverings and mural designs will play a positive part in this type of environment”.
To help realise this project, Annette Taylor-Anderson of ATADesigns and Gareth Wyn Jones, founder of Switchscene, which has many years of expertise in the field of digital wallpaper printing. Have joined forces to collaborate on this project, with our collaboration we are able to offer our customers a complete package from design, printing and install. We want care home residents to feel right at home with our beautifully styled designs. After all, these residents could be you and me now or in years to come who need just that little bit more care in a warm, welcoming, home from home environment.
We (ATADesigns) create the designs, and Switchscene provides the quality printing and installation .
This is an ongoing project that we would like to develop, as we grow and educate ourselves in this market. You can see more designs on our website: www.atadesigns.com
Age-related changes and impairments can make it more difficult to understand and navigate the built environment. These can be sensory, mobility or cognitive impairments, and sometimes a combination, which can affect functioning, behaviour, independence, and ultimately, quality of life. Understanding such impairments is the first step towards creating living environments which support the needs of older people and those with dementia, keeping them safe from dangers such as falls, which can have a devastating effect on an older person; allowing the freedom and confidence to use their abilities to the fullest extent, in all things from the mundane to the creative; aiding memory in day-to-day living; and reinforcing personal identity.
